Vintage Barbie OOAK GUINEVERE DRESS REIMAGINED AS "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" -- FUN!!!

I am pleased to offer this OOAK vintage outfit -- one that Mattel should have thought of, and I did! I found a vintage Mattel Guinevere dress (from the Little Theatre collection) in TLC condition -- no sleeves! I deciding it would be fun as an "I Dream of Jeannie" style outfit. Everything in this outfit is original to the vintage dress except the thread I used to redeign it. I slimmed down the skirt -- slightly blouson until the ankles, where it is narrow (same as for Enchanted Evening -- yes, Barbie couldn't walk in it but that wasn't the point, right?) Snaps are original. I used some of the trim for a waistband. The arm holes look fine but are not stitched (lost when someone removed the sleeves -- wasn't me).
From most of the rest of the skirt I fashioned a swingy vest. Bottom trim is in original sewn condition. I made the arm holes and trimmed them with a bit of gold original to this outfit (not a great job, OK on display -- you can tuck in a little of the roughness with tweezers if you want to). I used half of the original gold chain as a closure for the vest (I didn't cut it -- it was in two pieces on the dress). IMPORTANT NOTE -- the chain is sewn on both ends. The vest has to be put on (carefully) over the top of the doll with her hands/arms raised over and slightly behind her head (work down over head and shoulders). Vest is unlined (I didn't have any suitable satin), just tacked a little. (Only just now realized from the backside pic that I didn't pull my model's ponytail out of the vest -- oops!)
From the rest of the dress I fashioned this cute little hat reminiscent of the Guinevere hat but also a little Jeannie-ish. Works well on a ponytail like my model, might be a poof on top of a big bubble and look funny... an early bubblecut with a tight do could probably wear it.
I will include a pair of new reproduction open toe heels in navy, to which I have added gold glitter embellishment. The color doesn't match the velvet but does match the royal blue in the embroidered trim.
I am a hobbyist, not a professional, so you should expect exactly what you see -- a unique, pretty, fun outfit -- and not something with stunning tailoring and perfection.
