Description
This is a mid to late 1800's original Rockingham or Bennington glazed pottery called "Rebekah At The Well." It's an embossed teapot with lid. The scene depicted is the Biblical scene of a woman, named Rebekah, at a water well with a pitcher. It's brown Rockingham glazed with no crazing or repairs that I can see. The lid has a couple of small places that appear to be chips (see photos). There's no identifying mark on the bottom as to original manufacturer. It measures approximately 9" tall (with lid) and 9.25" wide from handle to spout. For it's age, I would say it's in very nice condition. Please ask all questions prior to purchase.
